Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a ruddy burnt caramel amber with a fine two finger off-white head with good retention and lacing. Excellent aroma of sweet bready, caramel malt, dark and dried fruit and yeast; inviting. Flavor follows with bready, caramel malt, dark dried fruit, wheat, hints of banana, finishing with sweet malt and plum juice and a slight hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A nicely balanced and flavorful bock, perhaps a wee bit on the sweet side, but plenty going on here. I enjoyed this as much as my favorite Celebrator with perhaps a little less flavor density. Well done. I'm inspired to return to try the other beers from this brewery.

Glass: Weihenstephan weizen glass

Innstadt's Bock Weisse is a solid weizenbock, exhibiting strong caramel or brown sugar-like malt characters, clove phenols, banana esters, and dried fruit esters.. A really nice wheat-based beer for the colder months, when a normal weizen might not cut it. Rivaling Aventinus for depth and overall enjoyability, one I'd pick up again.

Pours a fairly tall 3cm of beige to faint tan foam, which has average retention length (about 1.5 minutes), eventually living modest lacing along the lower portion of its fadeout. Lacing is nothing particularly noteworthy, a few lines and dots scattered about. Body is colored a dark brown with amber tints, light bringing out lighter brown tones and orange highlights. Hazy to the point of barely being able to see my hand through the glass, but can still make out some vigorous carbonation trailing up from all sides of the glass.

Aroma features a front of thick, caramel-like malt characters, strong clove phenols, and more modest banana esters. Less obvious scents include dried dates or figs, brown sugar, and dark brown bread. A nice aroma, rivaling Aventinus for its depth or complexity.

Taste opens with brown sugar sweet malts, hints of banana, and mild yeast. Mid-palate finds big banana esters, brown bread, dried figs or dates, yeast, and hints of vanilla. Back of palate is darkly malty, phenolically clove-like, and banana-like, the phenols intense to almost having an anise-like flavor about it, with minor hints of yeast, chocolate, and slight ethanol. Leaves an aftertaste of strong banana esters, some sweetness from malts, and slight brown-breadiness.

Beer is medium-bodied with some slight wateriness around the edges: could be fuller and not suffer. Carbonation is of medium intensity, creating a mouthfeel that is primarily smooth and slightly foamy. Closes semi-dry, with modest stickiness lingering around the palate.

I thought this was a really good beer. Like most of the Innstadt products I've purchased at the tremendous Krugels in Wilkes-Barre, it's not an aggressively flavored beer but is well made and very balanced. The silky mouthfeel enhances this balance and the finish is smooth and lingering. The head didn't stick around too long but the lacing was good and the deep honey color showed well in the pils glass. The aroma was excellent; deep and malty with caramel notes, with the wheat in the back. The intensity of this aroma seems to make the beer taste lighter and the 7% is well masked. An extremely nice beer!.

Poured from a swingtop bottle as pictured.

My pour created a thick finger of light-tan head with great retention. It looked like the top of a root beer float or a jamocha shake. Color was a really cloudy deep-brown. Nose had a pleasant admixture of banana and clove esters. Mouthfeel was thick and creamy and the banana esters were in full evidence on the tongue. I began to wonder if I were having a banana milkshake ... Until the finish, which was breathtaking in its intense clove wash at the extreme finish. 7 % ABV?!? This was going down as smoothly as a milkshake! Jeez-O, man, I'd better take my foot off the gas or I'll be gassed. Good stuff!

Poured into a pint glass. Semi-clear, brown colored body. Weird haze/hue to it. 1 finger, white head that faded to a thin layer.

Smell had a slight banana and estery aroma. Malt sweetness, slightly nutty.

Taste had a slight banana and estery flavor as well. Mild sweetness with some caramel. Light nuttiness with a mild bitterness in finish that leaves the palate clean.

Mouthfeel was medium body with a medium carbonation. Dry finish.

Drinkability was good. Clean finish and no signs of ABV

Appears a hazy dark chestnut with a small beige head that slowly fades. Tiny spots of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of bananas, clove, caramel, cocoa, and toffee,
Taste is of the aromas with rum soaked raisins pulling through.
Mouthfeel is full bodied, syrupy, chewy, with moderate carbonation.

Cloudy reddish brown beer with a small white colored head.

Smells of banana, chocolate and cloves. Slight soy sauce scent but I AM looking for it because of the beer style. Faint enough that you can't really fault it too much. Slight naphtha scent.

Pretty good banana bread flavor complete with the nuts. Bit of an additional rye bread flavor here minus the caraway seeds. Alcohol completely hidden. There is also a big brown sugar element to this beer.

Mouthfeel is OK.

This is OK, but not something I would bother trying again. It suffers from being in a beer category with numerous better beers.

I honestly bought this beer because it is a nice size swing top bottle I want to use for my home brew.

Pours a nice like hazelnut color that domed up pretty good. It's ok though because I wouldn't be able to fit all of it in my glass. Very little lacing.

Smell is almost of banana bred mixed with german hefe yeast. Kind of malty and sweet smelling.

Taste is kind of sweet. Man I keep picking the sweet beers to drink today. Kind of spicy clovey in the beggining but then goes to slightly toasty sweet. It's ok.

Mouthfeel is kind of low on carbonation.

Overall I don't think I will buy it again. I need to find a good beer in this size swing top so I van buy it and drink it then use the bottle.

A: Cloudy pecan color with a high carbonation level. Big rocky and soapy cream colored head has great retention. Leaves patches of lace down the glass.

S: Bananas, cream and cocoa hit me as the beer was poured. A sniff into the glass netted a strong clove and pepper aroma that dominated the other scents.

T: A sharp pepper and clove bitterness hit me first. Wheat and barley combine to create a toasted bread flavor. The yeast adds a biscuit quality. Behind it all are very faint cocoa and alcohol notes. Finishes very dry and tart.

M: Despite the active carbonation that was visible, this medium bodied beer felt a little watery.

D: My first foray into this style was a good one. A very nice beer that I thoroughly enjoyed. A great choice for review number 250.

Pours a copper color, quite clear, tall white head, medium retention, and decent amount of lacing.

Aroma is of banana, wheat, sweet malt, and alcohol. All 4 in equal parts.

Flavor is the same as the aroma without the alcohol. Sweet and malty with a wheat spiciness and banana from the yeast. Banana is strong in the aftertaste.

Medium/heavy body, medium/high CO2 levels, very very drinkable. A great beer all around. No idea on the age but these types of beers tend to age longer than anyone realizes.
