Obviously, it's a wheat beer. A chilled pint can can not be emptied in one pour into a clear glass liter mug. There's an enormous amount of starchy stark white head in the way. Of course, it recedes unevenly, unattractively and without much lacing. But this isn't self described as an IPA, it's claimed to be a Belgian style whitbier and that is how it shall be rated. Underneath the messy head lies a liquid that's yellow-amber in color and somewhat murky. That's part of the characteristics of a whitbier. The smell is mostly of the Belgian yeast esters than anything else. Maybe there's a little wheat and hops behind that. The first impression is how light and bodiless the brew feels, even for a wheat based beer. Unfortunately, there's no redeeming taste to mitigate that. As much as one would want to support a local and minority owned brew company, this just won't do. There's no body, no zing and no taste to describe. This is as bland a whitbier as you will find. Even those that dislike the style will probably prefer just a little more taste that they don't fully appreciate to this nearly tasteless and bodiless offering. Other than a mild hint at Belgian esters in a watery body, there's nothing to report about this one.
