just called sergeant ipa when i was in, dropping the name of the previous operation. definitely the better of the two hoppy beers i had in here, and one i think has some legs. a little bit of amber color to it, but i dont mind that, and not quite all the way clear either, but enormous hop aroma on it, fresh to me, c varietals i would posit, centennial, chinook, cascade, kind of northwestern and classic, with things like juniper and fir tree going on, high alpha, lots of oils, balanced well by the malt, both woody and woodsy in taste, a little big of needed bready sweetness from the grain, good balance there, and pretty wintery in complexion, substantial and fuller, it would seem lighter with better carbonation, but i think the recipe is solid and the hop profile is great, just needs a little more life or a little less body to it to be a pint beer, at least for my preferences. i know these guys are still in transition from the old operation to the new one, and its cool they have a nice ipa like this in the midterm. ill check them out again in a few months when they have had some time to get everything dialed in.

Flight at brewery. Very resinous hops, almost medicinal. Hazy dark golden color, minimal wispy head. Bitter finish. Gets lost in the plethora of IPAs in this town.

Slightly hazy amber brew... okay white head... Piney hops and husky pale malt with hints of light caramel.. not exactly what I personally think of for a PNW IPA.. decent and better than many of the IPA's made locally.. I should probably give Haff more play... I see them out and about and always pass over, but this IPA is certainly fresh and well made.
