i feel like i remember the abv being quite a bit higher on this than what is listed here, but more than that, i thought it was weird to have a wet hop beer on tap this time of year, like, this had to have been made in the fall right? that seems like too long for unstable hops to hold up, and something i would expect most brewers to be aware of, but here it was, this far removed from harvest time. i have a hard time believing they got wet southern hemisphere hops at a place like this too, but i could be wrong i guess. the beer tastes a little tired, not bad, just kind of muted and dull, especially next to their robust and fresh sergeant ipa, which i thought was vastly superior to this, at least at this point. its brassy colored, with light pine in aroma and flavor, a pale malt sweetness, and some intact hop oils, but its not bold enough to fit as an ipa to me, and the freshess and newness and resinous wet hop character i look for in these is close to absent. a little oxidation is here too. ill have to swing back in during the fall for a fresher glass of this. if they made it with new southern hemisphere hops, they didnt do a great job with it. my guess is they just werent that busy in the early going and had some beer leftover. it should probably be dumped at this point. possibly leftover from the old brewery they took over for here recently...

Draft at brewery. Medium golden, fine carbonation, creamy head. Soft hoppy aroma, bigger hoppy taste with the malts slipping in underneath. Lingering bitter finish.

Had this a few times now.. Both PreFunk's and Boise brewing... Pours slightly hazed light amber.. good white head and lacing... Grassy/bit citrus hoppiness... more bitter than I was expecting for a fresh-hop brew... Proper hoppiness, dig it.. much better than most "fresh hop IPA's" when this is just supposed to be a "fresh hop pale ale".
