Taster at Bella. Bright golden, small ring of white head. Light grainy aroma, taste takes a u-turn, super sweet and acidic at the back. This is going downhill fast. Seemed interesting at first, went horribly wrong.

far and away the best beer i have had from bella so far, they must have a new brewer or something, as the quality here is leagues better than what i have had from them before. i was actually a little skeptical to try this one, but they totally nailed it. its got a cool belgian yeast strain on it, obviously fermented under its most favorite conditions, as this is almost entirely yeast driven, and the profile is fantastic on it. notes of chardonnay grapes, white peach, floral honey, clover, lilac, plantain, white pepper, and apples in the aroma and in the flavor, predominantly the finish, where the beer dries out fast and the yeast character remains on the tongue. the grain does have some sweetness, even an almost confectioners sugar character about it, or a rock candy crystalline sugar thing, but its dry by the end, so it ends up more as flavor depth and malt profile enhancement than as an overly sweet feature. some herbal character to this too, almost medicinal for a moment at the climax, belgian yeasty goodness to finish. the fermentation profile of this is really good, and the beer has a lot of life as well, quite professional, especially next to the other bella beers i have had. hopefully this is a sign of things to come from these guys, really good example of the style and a nice little bit of a buzz generator at this well hidden strength.
