this place has been reinvented once again, used to be bella, not loose screw, not sure if there is a relationship there or not, but the beer seems much improved over the last time i was in, and all we had this time were tasty, although the service left a bit to be desired. this is a simple blonde, 4.7% abv when i had it, clean and bright and easy drinking on a hot afternoon, pure golden in the glass with an average white head. the aroma and flavor show some more nuance than a lot of these have, a touch of herbal hops appreciable to both senses and even a hint of a fermentation element, maybe not quite belgian, but not irrelevant either, and i think it makes this a bit more dynamic than most basic blondes ever are. the intangibles are here too, which is important in the minimal styles, its quite dry, not watery feeling even though its light bodied, and the carbonation is robust enough to make this thirst quenching. in the end its just a blonde ale, but it has more going on than most and really shows some improvement in the brew house here over most of what i had under the bella name. all the beers here were good this time, im pretty sure this is their lightest offering.
edit: this gets better from batch to batch, i have had it each of the last few times i have hit up the meridian location and honestly its improving from an objective quality standpoint, now more crisp and bright than i remember it being before, and definitely one of the easier drinking beers they brew. i have to improve the mouthfeel score, this is more refined than it has been in the past, nice!

Crowler from Loose Screw. Pale golden, body, hint of haze, foamy disappearing head. Grainy, malty aroma, crackers. Taste is more grassy malts, bready, biscuits with some light dryness at the finish. Tasty and refreshing.
