Draft at Loose Screw Downtown. Foggy golden pour, small head dissipates. Yeasty, Belgian aroma. Taste is bready, yeasty, typical Belgian notes but in a lighter offering. Nice summer day quaff.

one of my favorites ive had from these guys i think, a really nice low alcohol belgian type that they are calling a table beer, maybe another style we should admit here on BA. this is simple stuff but its tastefully done, the ferment is defining without being overbearing, and that can be a fine line to talk, especially for american breweries with less yeast options and specialization, lots of generic and phenolic beer in this space, but this is neither, so credit loose screw for a winner here. mild easy sunny colored brew thats very bright despite not being perfectly clear, bubbly and collecting some pretty white head, although shorter and less permanent than with the best belgian beers. the nose and taste bring cool yeasty character from green banana and papaya to white pepper and coriander, its got light citrusy notes as well as an herbal side, has interesting esters that dont dominate a very light beer, the grain and hops are also appreciable, mild and cohesive, white and yellow florals, subtle pear, white wine, and late bitterness, even a spicy hint of ginger or something, lemon, all light bodied and excited feeling, refreshing and one that warms up well, but we hardly let it, this is a drinker, could make a day of it for sure, and hope they keep this one around. among the better belgian types ive had from idaho, very professionally done with the yeast!
