a real vibrant kettle sour with prickly pear, juicy and summery, light, cleanly soured, and very genuine on the fruit, i think this is excellent and everyone at our table really liked it. gorgeous electric pink color to this, light haze is pretty too, short white head but with nice carbonation, light as can be, and just beery enough to be not juice-like to drink, minimal on the malt and hops, but enough there to keep it where it belongs, this should be wildly popular for them this summer, in ways a lot like the blueberry one they also have going right now, in other ways real unique, cool to see them nailing this style. this is tart in a fun way, like pink lemonade, definitely some sharp early citrus but also that identifiable floral prickly pear element, a hint of hibiscus and chamomile, lush and juicy but never really sweet at all, faint other fruitiness like cranberry and red currant, but the prickly pear itself is uncorrupted. summery all the way, almost umbrella drink status, not too sour to have multiples of, subtle wheat body, lively mouthfeel, quicker finish than expected, lightly vinous at the end which is cool, refreshing and not at all over flavored, which is a nice change of pace from what is trendy in this style space. unexpectedly nice with spicy food too, which i dont often think of for sour beer, but it works! real well done.
