simple and well made american golden ale, quality beer with a nice fuller character malt base to it, so many of these are monotone and generic, but this is just a touch richer and more interesting while retaining its mass appeal and high drinkability, so well done elevating it just a bit, seems real fresh and balanced but without hops really being much of a factor in aroma or flavor, not insanely pale yellow, a little sunnier and warmer looking, light haze but well enough refined for me, frothy white headed with some lace, fine carbonation. the aroma and flavor show some light up front sweetness in the floral honey range, soft biscuity character without being warm and baked or all that hearty, simple in a good way, very subtle fermentation character that adds a little something too, trace citrus on the finish, slow fade from the palate, not snappy or lager like, despite its lightness, and it seems right for colder months, not that it would have refreshment value in high summer, but there is just a bit more to this and i think it lends well to winter drinking and vibes. ive always sort of lamented this style, especially when compared with the fermentation forward belgian goldens or something, but they have managed to make something simple seem just a bit more special and intentional, and i give them credit for that. lighter medium body, great carbonation, smooth to drink on, solid stuff in a typically boring style space...
