Picked this up at a Total Wine in Tempe, Arizona when I was out there recently as I never had anything from Firetruck before. Liked the design of this can as the liquid inside was just as enjoyable. Although I prefer my Hefeweizen's in the spring, this was fitting for summer as it was light on the palate but plenty full in body and a good example of what a beer of this style should taste and feel like!
Not to anyone's surprise, this beer was a hazy goldenrod with a decent, full head of foam that quietly settled down. No lacing was left behind as that was easily this beer's worst attribute. At least it was uniform in hue without any sediment floating in it, as this wasn't overly cloudy like other beers of this type. Tons of banana, clove, and a bit of wheat in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. Not as crisp as it's description indicated, this was a textbook example of the style that was lightly carbonated, well-balanced, and moderately slick on the palate once this fully went down.
No bitterness was present here and the alcohol was a tad strong, but not a deterrent as there was plenty of bread to proverbially chew on after I finished this off. Dated 4/8 on the side of the can, this held up well over the last three and a half months as I would have loved to have given this a go on tap. Lots to like here for fans of this style who are unable to get something from Germany as the contents of the 12 oz can didn't last in my glass for long. Enjoy this year-round!

From a can at Roaring Fork in Scottsdale. Darker than I expected for a Hefeweizen, but this was really tasty and a well done wheat beer.
