Appearance - Hazy gold body. Small less than 1 finger sudsy white head. Weak lacing. Little to no stick, and low retention. 3.25

Smell - Corn. Faint earth/ cardboard. After a good swirl, some banana. The grass dry hop is very faint. 4

Taste - Delicate, balanced bready, yeast and banana. Definitely tastes better than it smells. 4.5

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied. A bit creamy almost. Clean. A bit of an astringency in the finish and aftertaste, that takes a bit of the appeal away. A couple points. 2.75

Overall - The weird soapy astringent finish really takes away from an otherwise serviceable if mid beer. 3

From a can produced 11/9/22. Black color with a good inch of medium brown head. Smells of roasted malt and chocolate. Light feel. Tastes of roasted malt with a vanilla finish. Somewhat sweet. Good, but the feel is a bit harsh

Appearance: Nearly opaque dark brown in color with a large, dense and fairly persistent tan head. The lacing rings the glass wall in a thick and irregular unbroken ring. Before a very strong light, the body is a deep amber-red.

Aroma: Strong roasted grains and cold coffee dominate the aroma. Of the vanilla, I can detect no hint, though there is a bit of wood. No alcohol presents in the aroma, to be expected at an ABV of 5.9%.

Taste: The taste opens with a strong note of cold coffee and dark roasted malt. A bit after, there is a wood note that I associate with vanilla, but try as I might, I can find no presence of vanilla in the taste. late in the taste, there is some char and a moderate, earthy hop presence. Finishes with a lingering note of wood and char.

Mouth feel: Smooth and fairly full, with a bit of stinging carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: A pleasant and drinkable porter, although for me, the vanilla was lacking. Still, I find it to be a worthwhile porter.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.
