Poured from a small growler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of pale malt, piney and citrus hops, spruce and grapefruit; spruce forward. Flavor is pale malt with a hint of biscuit, piney and citrus hops, spruce, mild light stone fruit, orange and grapefruit; solid bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. As named, this is a spruce tip forward IPA, and quite a nice one. The spruce is dominant, but at a nice level. There are other light fruit notes underneath, but they are light and transient. More of a pale ale to my taste with a lighter presence of hop botanicals, but the flavors mesh well with the spruce component. I pleasant, light IPA with great conifer character.

Pours a clear golden honey with a finger and a half of foamy head that dissipates to a thin ring with plenty of lacing. Aroma of orange and faint pine. Taste follows nose.
