"This red ale has notes of bread, toasted caramel, butterscotch, and toffee giving it a slight sweetness with a crisp finish. Featuring six kinds of malts with just enough hops to balance it out, River Otter Red tastes like watching a family of otters play in a backyard pond."

Look: Rich, dark red-amber in color with a short-lived beige head that settles to a film, leaving a light ring of lacing behind
Aroma: Warmed bread, toast, toffee, baked red apples, light earthy hops, and dark caramel
Taste: Starts out with rich layers of bread that include raw dough, toasted bread and crust, and freshly baked bread that begin to unpack and quickly followed by rich, dark caramel. Red apples pop in before toffee steals the spotlight, with earthy hops discernable but staying out of the way. Closes with more bread, toffee, and caramel
Mouthfeel: Full, clean, soft, medium-high carbonation, and smooth and soft on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. My first beer from these folks and I picked the Red Ale to try since I love that style and this one did not disappoint. Rich, bready malt throughout, along with nice caramel and toffee notes and very clean and smooth on the feel. It’s a winner in my book and I look forward to trying more from them soon
