Appearance - The beer was murky brown in appearance with a two inch head.
Smell - The malts were noted with a darker lean.
Taste - The initial impression was roasted malts with amber Vienna malts leading the way. There were notes of rye, dark fruit, and oak from the oak barrel aging. It lead the way to a dry finish.
Mouthfeel - Even with aggressive carbonation, the body still had some viscosity.
Overall - This was a well developed doppelbock.
