Made from a base of Chesapeake pilsner and chit malt from Riverbend Malt House. Single decoction on our brewhouse is an untraditional method but one that imparts a certain depth we appreciate in this beer. Lightly hopped with Styrian Celeia throughout the boil and fermented with Bavarian lager yeast before being rested cold in our oak puncheons for ten weeks.

Appearance: Pours out crystal clear and blonde colored with a two finger head; decent retention with a few shards and speckles of clinging lace
Smell: Crisp and bready with hints of grass and oak
Taste: Bready, up front, with a hint of malty sweetness; through the middle, it turns grassy with sulfur flavors emerging; a bit of sweetness lingers in the finish with a touch of oak in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: Interesting impact from the oak but I prefer a crisper pilsner with a dry finish
