On draught at the brewery; pint pour. It pours a cloudy but bright tangerine-honey color with a creamy, bright white cap and long-lasting, elegant lacing. It has a fruity aroma of grapefruit, lemon, a whiff of lime, and subtle ripe melon. The taste opens with tart, bitter grapefruit rind and lemon but as it warms a bit the initial taste is balanced by is notes of ripe melon and a hint of red berry from the Citra. Then it finishes with a blast of pepper and bitterness. The brewer used Magnum hops in the boil for bittering. The result is an IPA that bridges the gap between New England and West Coast. It boasts a thick, creamy mouthfeel with pleasant carbonation, and the 6.8% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, Fort No-Nonsense (the name makes sense to us locals) is very nicely brewed and enjoyable. But don't expect a sweet fruit bomb.
