Pint on draught at the brewery. A cloudy, reddish-brown pour that resembles iced tea, with a thin, ecru-colored head and lacing. Its smell features caramel malt, brown bread, cola, and subtle floral hops. The taste is rich, dry, and malty with lots of toasted brown bread. As the glass warms, there is increasing caramel sweetness. It finishes with a nice dry, slightly piney, bitterness. The mouth feel is full-bodied and creamy with fairly lively carbonation, and at 5.6$% ABV it drinks easily. Overall, I'm always happy to drink an Amber Ale and Alfred Vail is a nice rendition of the style. I would definitely order it again.
