Slainté! A gorgeous copper color. Malty and smooth, made with caramel malt and cascade hops.

On tap at the brewery. Pours dark amber with white head. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is of herbal hops, caramel malt and some off taste. Long almost dry finish. Ok brew.

Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a lovely orange-copper color with a modest, ecru-colored head and spotty lacing. The smell offers sweet caramel malt and fruity notes of cherry and green apple. The taste opens similar to the nose with fruit and malty sweetness but it's quickly balanced by dry, earthy, nutty flavors. But what really makes this ale is the Cascade hops which add floral, spicy notes and a firm, clean bitterness. The earthy bitterness overcomes the initial sweetness to dominate the taste. It's quite tasty. The mouthfeel is crisp with lively carbonation and the 5.7% ABV, which is elevated for the style, gives it good substance. Overall, this is a tasty, enjoyable Irish Red Ale that deserves style points for the brewer's use of hops. It's perfect for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Morristown.
