Pint on draught at the brewery. This beer has an unusual appearance - more like a NEIPA than a Blonde Ale. It pours a dense, murky pastel yellow color with a thin, milk-white cap and minimal lacing. Nonetheless, its appearance is eye opening and attractive. The smell combines wheat biscuit, lemon, grapefruit, raspberry, and earthy tobacco smoke. The taste confirms the uniqueness of the recipe: The winter wheat provides a strong base upon which are layered tart lemon and grapefruit, a rather bold raspberry, and a hoppy, clean, moderately bitter finish. I'm not sure I've ever had a beer quite like this but it tastes great! The mouth feel is excellent: thick, rich, and creamy with appropriate carbonation, and it seems to be a bitter beer than 4.5% ABV. Overall, Hard Winter Wheat is another quirky beer from Glenbrook that doesn't neatly into any BA recognized style categorization but is nevertheless thoroughly enjoyable.
