Hazy with a lime and lemon thing going on. Hazy and lime is not my thing. A bit bitter for a hazy as well.

Canned on 5/6/2024. Poured into a shaker glass. It pours a murky, dirty orange with a half finger, fluffy, bright white cap with excellent retention. and lots of soapy lacing. It has a big nose featuring lemon peel, lime, grapefruit, grass, and crackery malt. The taste is primarily bitter with notes of lemon and grapefruit rind over a dry, cracker malt base with strong herbal notes. The bitterness is sharp but clean. This ale is moderately thick with pleasant carbonation, and the 6.3% ABV provides no obstacle. This ale is reminiscent of the original West Coast IPA that Glenbrook brewed. Thenk it tweaked the recipe and called it "Morristown Style IPA." It featured more sweet fruit. I'm not sure whether this marks an evolution or simply a return to the original recipe (although it's much hazier). Overall, this IPA may be hazy but it has a west coast taste. If you like bitterness, then you'll enjoy it.

Pours a moderate 1-2 finger head, touch off-white, retention is so-so, lacing wispy if that. Semi-cloudy liquid, no full opacity, darkish yellow hue. Citrusy nose of naval orange and white grapefruit, decent maly backbone, clean herbaceousness, tea leaf, nice scrubbing sensation with some lift. Medium-bodied, not that dry so there is a steady expansive mouth feel outwards across the palate. Carbonation is moderate. Citrus dominant here too, the fruit tends to shy away from the spotlight, kiwi, mango, apricot, melon. Gets much more dank than in the nose. Bitter finish. No glaring flaws but at the same time never seems to find its groove. (Canned 8/15/23)
