Nice dark mahogany amber, poured from 50cl bottle. Lovely foamy head, nice lacing. Notes of caramel and slight spice with some wood, maybe oak or pine. Taste is punchy, malty and slightly cloying but not in a bad way. Caramel and molasses dominate. Nice full, effervescent feel. ABV well masked. Nice doppelbock.

Pours a clear, mahogany coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of slightly roasted, grainy, caramel malt and chocolate, as well as dark fruit, with notes of fig and plum. Taste is a great balance of slightly roasted, grainy, caramel malt, chocolate and dark fruit, with notes of fig and plum, as well as hints of herbal, spicy hops. Finishes with a light bitterness and sweetness, as well as some chocolate and dark fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a nice Doppelbock with a decent balance of sweet and roasted, bitter notes, although it's just a tad too sweet for my personal taste, while also not feeling quite as rich as it perhaps could. Nevertheless I like the balance of roasted, caramel malt and spicy, herbal hops here, with some chocolate coming through distinctly, as well as lighter notes of dark fruit.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Deep ruby chestnut, clear, pours with a 3mm fine-bubble pale tan head. ps 5mins later, holds well.
S- Nice and toasty with richer malts underneath.
T- As^ plus a rich charry edge. Wouldn't mind a little more hops into the finish, overall it's left a bit rich...
F- Rich malts, malted puffed wheat cereal, good carbonation though.
O- Not a patch on the previous similar pedigree Dopplebock I just had. The complexity and hops seem almost absent.
500ml bottle BB: 16/11/21 £3.80 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

De Landbierparadise. En copa hefe de Bavaria. Viendo el Hombre en el Castillo 1x08. Si bien al principio decepciona un poco, con el tiempo un delicioso perfil acaramelado con quemazon alcoholica bien integrada se termina abriendo paso

Dark amber, beautiful ivory colored creamy head.
Malty smell, with biscuit notes.
Soft and creamy taste, full doppelbock. Malt, honey, bready, and round taste.
Sweet as is has to be, with a relatively lean body, for a good drinkability.
Alcohol hidden.
Good and well balanced.

Pours a clear dark brown to ember color, with a light beige, stable head.

Smells of dried grass, straw, caramel and a light roastiness.

Has a smooth mouthfeel, displaying a medium bodied beer with just enough carbonation during its finish to evoke a refreshing impression.

Tastes of toffee, a whiff of peppery licorice, calming whipped cream with just a whiff of earthy, balancing bakers chocolate. Turns sweeter after the swallow with a sticky, then creamy caramel note, amped up by the now recognizable, lighter carbonation. Finishes with toasty hazelnuts, more cream and prevailing caramel.

Solid, quite sweet and a little too thin for the higher abv.

Clear amber color with off-white head. Aroma has some sweet, toasted malt and a hint of alcohol. Taste starts with toasted malt, slightly spicy and boozy. Body is on the lighter side and has medium carbonation. I don't really like this one. It's quite boozy and also has a stale grain / rotten fruit flavor.
