Copenhagen 20/6 2022. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Red and burgundy label in Frederikshavn brewery's usual design with the little drawing of white round church as logo.
Pours unclear, dark mahogany with a red hue and a small off-white head. Settles as thin patch of foam floating in the middle of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet toasted odor mingling with a light grainy sourness and a light whiff of alcohol. Caramel and toffee. Toasted malts. Brown sugar. Raisins and prunes.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a sugary touch. Lingers for a while. Finish is sugary with a touch of sweet spices.
Would have expected a bit more punch in a Dubbel from the Brewery behind the strongest in Denmark.
