Copenhagen 9/7 2023. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Industrivej, Løkken. A. cartoonish very happy Scottish CEO leaning against a whisky barrel on the label.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small bubbly, off-white head Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sugary sweet odor mingling with a sharp, smoky and boozy scent. Brown sugar and toffee. Syrup and honey. Smoked whisky and burnt peat.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous, sticky, flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sugary with a light boozy undertone. Lingering. Finish is sugary and laden with alcohol.
Very much on the sugary side. Could use a bit more of the smoky Islay.
