Gigantic, ridiculous head. Took the bartender forever to settle it down. Black, kinda watery looking though. Mouthfeel also thin.
Acrid, bit of coffee and ... oatmeal? No real chocolate flavors, just roast, coffee, and that weird acrid oatmeal/cereal aftertaste.
Not particularly good. Would not revisit.

On-cask at the Beachwood BBQ, in Seal Beach, CA, apparently brewed with oak chips soaked in fine Irish Whiskey,
A: Pours a jet black, with a thick cap of light tan, beige foam, which leaves nice lacing in an Imperial Pint glass.
S: Coffee predominately, with a woody alcohol whiff, I would think from the oak chips, but not as fragrant as I expected from a bigger beer.
T: The taste is really good, and I feel the cask-conditioning really opens the flavours up. Roasted coffee and a bit of cacao at first, roasted malts dominate, but about halfway through the beer, I noticed the delectable Irish Whiskey character. Oak and charcoal came out, and the alcohol added a bit of a medicinal character to the brew, complex and interesting.
M: Very light for a 9% brew, I'd have sworn this was 5%, if I didn't know any better. Smooth and easy to drink, very low in carbonation, makes it something you could have a few pints of, but you'd probably end up pretty loopy.
D: A nice brew from the purveyors on Heil and Gothard, a complex, rich brew, that I'll have to have again when I can find it.
