Paddy Wagon tilts unabashedly to the malt. The character of any hop infusion would appear to be a neglected afterthought. In fact, its so sweet and well filtered, one might imagine the malt sugars are not fully fermented. A little more time and a little more yeast might transform this into something well beyond its present parameters.
But thats an observation, not a complaint. I like ales capable of irking the hop gods now and again. Paddy Wagon is a stunning amber and comes with a thin wisp of head. The aroma is malty and buxom.
Despite the beautiful color and clarity, the overall visual presentation is marred by a tired body with weighted carbonation. There was no lace to be seen at all and the head departed prematurely.
I enjoyed the raw wort-like maltiness of this beer. But a fresher tap might have scored higher marks.

Decided to pop into theis Brewpub, probably the least known in Oregon, today.
First pint was this.
Looked a little darker amber than most of this style, small head and sparce lacing.
The aroma was nondescript, but mostly of malts.
This is quite a malty pale ale compared to most I have tasted in the PNW,nice though with a small bitter aftertaste of hops.
Quite smooth and satisfying on the palate.
A nice and unexpected version of an English Pale( reminded me a little of Whitbread).
