Read with a grain of salt, six months past best by date...
Pours nicely, clearer than expected, probably the age and sediment settling; color is straw with golden and orange hues, head is slightly is a lightly dirty white; good retention once settled.
Nose is light; its quite refreshing, there is light clove and then a sort of light pop of bubblegum character, as it warms there is some light vanilla, that coupled with the wheat comes off like nilla wafers; despite its age there is very light lingering old world hop character.
The taste shows some of its age, not really in a bad way but all those great hefeweizen notes are just muted a bit; still, what is there is pretty nice; firstly it has a really good malt character, rich wheat bread, then comes some light hefe yeast esters, but mostly only in aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is medium-low; goes down easy and clean, lick of bitter, has a little bit of parch inducing dryness on the finish too.

Medium light carbonation with about a medium body. Has a slight thick feel that coats the tongue that I often see with hefeweizens
Aroma is banana, malt, banana bread, mild peppery spice, and grain
Taste is very similar to aroma with the banana bread being most prominent. Slightly sweet and with the banana bread taste it almost would make a good dessert beer.

Grab this if you're into American German styles. Notes of black pepper, banana and some malt. Tastes like it smells. This isn't on par with some of the Munchen weisses but it's very close.

Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.
Classic unfiltered appearance, but with also quite a bit of an orange color to it, along with classic lemon yellow. Some nice fine carbonation, but hardly anything for a head formation. Fainting one finger head of off white, settles to a thin puck and collar.
Clean nose, but also quite light and fruity. Nice ester of orange and lemon oil on the aroma, with some hints of soft grain. Small hints of sweet cookie dough as well but it's pretty tiny but makes for a different experience. Quite nice and a little unique.
Palate is very impressive. Juicy and quite a good thick and chewy body, that has a real nice big creamy texture. That texture just amplifies and coats the flavors real nicely. First sip is dense mixes of orange and lemon fruit, with some sweet banana. Spicy herbal finish and tang of an almost peach like sweet fruity quality flavor aftertaste. Hints of thick cream as well nearly hints at vanilla with a great complimenting banana ester also.
What a delicious refreshing hefe, would definitely score this again if I could.

a: hazy burnt caramel, orange, and yellow color. pours a 1 finger solid slightly off-white head. head is a little bit small for what i'm used to with hefeweizens, but thats not really a problem
s: ripe pear, banana, clove, green apples, tons of wheat, lemongrass, some sweet malts, and a little bubble gum to finish
t: ripe bananas, sweet caramel, wheat, light fruity esters - pears and green apple skin, and a hint of clove
m: medium mouthfeel. carbonation level is fitting of the style, but a little less than some of the great ones
o: i'm a fan of Ramstein beers, but this one has a nicer aroma than taste. the taste isn't bad at all - its just missing that little something extra that makes the classics great. it could use a little more of the fruity bubble gum flavor, along with some more clove. that said its not a bad beer, i think it just falls a little short. really nice for a hot day though

This beer is very hazy and darker than ld expect. Almost orange. I was worried because there was very little head and the smell was a bit too yeasty but the flavor is nice. Everything you'd expect from a hefe - yeast, wheat, spice, light banana. A nice local beer. nb

Date: July 19, 2015... Glassware: Weihenstephan wheat... Occasion: recovering from the nine family party with a Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf viewing... Appearance: Begins with a two-finger white head that thins swiftly; an opaque, hazy yellow body that erupts in effervescence; zero tracings in the glass.... Aroma: lemon, clove and a bit of pepper make for an inviting profile; light malts suggest a balanced blond... Palate: smooth, medium-bodied, and with a bit of fizziness...drinkable and sessionable, but not nuanced or textured... Taste: clove, pepper, and malts are a flavorful treat, with a medium-bodied impact and indeed a balanced wheat; the apple/banana arrives at the end of the sip.... Overall: a refreshing, substantial hefeweizen that kept me quenched during a HOT summer afternoon....
