Bought and consumed in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Poured from the nice 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottle says this is brewed with pink himalayan salt and flor de Jamaica (hibiscus).
A: The beer is a slightly hazy golden color topped with a quickly dissolving pinkish-white foamy head of 2 fingers.
S: Odd smell coming off this at first. Kind of a salty farmhouse smell which makes sense, but this one is not altogether pleasant. Maybe a little feet. Some floral notes in there from the hibiscus. Slightly medicinal.
T: After this smell, I wasn't sure what to expect. But this is a solid-tasting gose. Sour right off the bat, but then is tempered a bit by the salt. Finish is where many of the notes come out - a certain sweetness with white grape tartness and some other unripe fruits.
F: Slight carbonation - just enough to be refreshing but not so much to be distracting. A strong point of this beer.
Overall: I could see this being really refreshing when it is super hot in the middle of the day and pairing with some seafood to cut through (or enhance) some of the tartness. On its own, not too bad, but I wish I was drinking this with something. A unique beer to stumble upon in Costa Rica. If I find it again I'll pick it up for sure.
