Scrusy is made with 100% base malt from Maine Malt House, and balanced with flaked oats from Blue Ox Malthouse. This version of Scrugsy got a generous dose of BRU-1 and Enigma when dry hopped. The aroma brings pineapple juice and cotton candy; reminiscent of treats from a pre-pandemic hot summer night at the carnival. On the palate Scrugsy carries passionfruit, papaya, pineapple, and candied oranges.

Cloudy, green-hued dirty gold color. Excellent head that recedes in a rocky fashion. Larger spots and occasional streaks remain as the beer is consumed.
Strong earthy smells with an off-putting sewer-like nose. Definitely not my cup of tea.
The base malt is soft with a bit of sourness. Decent body with a lower carbonation. The finish, however, brings back what I don’t like from the smell, albeit much more subtly. Longer, unpleasant aftertaste.

Can from Bert's
Hazy murky pale yellow with a decent sized bone white head that slowly recedes. Citrus and tropical fruit with hints bread and earthy grass to counter. Pretty nice.

No canned on date. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Modestly hazy bright gold with 2-finger white frothy head with good retention and lacing.
S: Citrus forward with orange, pineapple, and lemon-lime with light herbal honeysuckle undercurrent. I don’t get a lot of cotton candy or other heavy esters - overall, the esters seem light and fruity.
T: Flavor is excellent with plenty of pineapple, lemon-lime, orange, and white grapefruit with some lighter less distinct tropical fruit punch notes and that same light herbal undercurrent. Esters are light and fruit and bitterness is low.
M: Very creamy and soft with medium body and enough carbonation to avoid it seeming like juice consistency - feels like a great NEIPA.
O: Excellent NEIPA with very juicy flavor and texture with plenty of intense citrus and tropical fruit flavors.

Pours a hazy straw color and sports a fluffy white head that coats the glass with lacing. Absolutely gorgeous beer.
The nose is filled with tropical citrus aromas, including papaya, pineapple, passion fruit, and tangerine, and that’s precisely where the taste lands. Truly delicious .
The mouthfeel is medium and a bit drier than expected for a hazy. This is a magnificent tropical juice bomb, one I’m very glad I got to try.

IPA - New England / Hazy
Spicy nectarine in the nose. Smooth, yet peppery hops in the feel. Nice mix of bright citrusy hops, black pepper, tangy and sweet effect. Smooth golden malty grains going down is easy and well balanced. Deep hop flavor for *only* 7% abc. Very nice.

Pours a cloudy cream orange with a finger of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with some lacing. Aroma of orange and pineapple. Taste follows nose.

Gorgeous banana peel yellow body, cloudy and opaque; dense, foamy, white head, decent retention. Muted tropical fruit aroma; banana. Nicely balanced flavors; delicate powdered sugar and tropical fruit sweetness; vanilla creamsicle; low to no bitterness; light overall generic citrus presence. Smooth body, dense and creamy; semi-sweet yet not cloying.
Man, I had to pour this beer quickly and not properly chilled because it tipped over in my garage and a pinhole puncture started spraying beer. Despite this inglorious start, the beer's sublime attributes shone through.
