Finch & Thistle, pouring pale golden hazy with aromas of big papaya, kiwi, pineapple, and stone fruit that will make you long for summer. This strong pale ale opens with flavors of grapefruit and other tropical citrus and stone fruit for a crispy taste that finishes with some light malt sweetness. Distlefink, the hex symbol on this label represents happiness and good fortune.

Picked up a four pack of cans at Bradfords Liquors in Plymouth, Massachusetts for about eighteen dollars. My third brew reviewed from these guys. Solid.

Belleflower Brewing IPA - New England / Hazy
Soft fruity sweetness in the hops and an earthy, candied fruit tanginess for balance is an impressive effect. Big and bright tropical fruit blend is rather impressive. Tangy earth tones are abundant with an ultra soft, pillowy mouthful to round it out. A very unique hop flavor with many specific fruity tones going a bit further than normal.

Smell: pine, lots of pine. Taste has lots of vague fruity flavors I can't make out under the pine. Kinda sticky feel.
Double dry-hopped, juicy, pretty artwork on the can; feels like critic-bait beer, if such a thing exists. Easy to drink.

Low carb, drinks a little flat. But aroma and flavor bright, mainly featuring pineapple notes.

Look is pale and hazy. Reminds of pineapple juice nice head with retention.
Smell was immediate right of the can, big tropical air. Pineapple, pine.
Taste: Medium body, nice juiciness that is balanced nicely with the hops. A pleasant sweetness accompanies the dankess.
Feel: medium body. Reminds me of juice nectar.
Overall: I like this type of IPA where bitterness is balanced with a touch of sweetness and dank.

16 oz can.
Pours a hazy pale gold color with a 2 finger fluffy white head. Good retention. Leaves a crown of lacing.
The aroma is a bit muted, but there's a lot of that Maine homegrown grain, as well as some lemon and grapefruit.
The flavor brings a fair amount of citrus. There's some passion fruit and pineapple as well. Very grainy; has a strong malt presence. Nice balance.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Relatively slick, but highly drinkable.
Overall, this is a pretty good citra IPA. It's not mind-blowing by any means, but it showcases the fruity side of the citra hop while holding back the dank characteristics. Solid all-around.
