Barn Hex featuring Vic Secret and Enigma in the dry hop. Barn Hex pours a light straw color with heavy haze and the aroma features ripe papaya, pineapple, and grapefruit. On the palate you'll taste papaya, pineapple, grapefruit juice, with a slightly woody character.

Drank from a 16oz can
Served in a tulip
Thanks to hopley for hooking me up with this can.
The beer poured a hazy lemon yellow color and was topped by a fluffy, finger-tall, bright white crown that slowly fell to a thick, lasting collar. Some streaky, spotty lacing trickled down the sides of the glass.
The aroma was fantastic. Sweet fruity notes came through strong. Tropical fruits were most noticeable initially. Candied papaya and mango specifically. Bit of overripe peach too. White grape notes were also apparent and really intensified as the beer warmed. Tangerine and lime were detectable as well.
The flavor profile was also impressive albeit more tart and pithy than the nose. Citrus came through strong on the front end. Tangerine for sure. Bit of lime too. Tropical fruits were also detectable. Mango perhaps. Some peach was noticeable as well. Big pineapple presence in the center. Pithy grapefruit notes appeared on the back end and intensified in the finish. Dry, bitter, citrus rind-like notes lingered after the swallow.
Outstanding fluffy, medium bodied mouthfeel. Super creamy, slick and smooth. The liquid contained a fine, zippy effervescence that fluffed up beautifully on the palate.
Barn Hex (Enigma and Vic Secret) is an impressive double IPA that could go head-to-head with many of the better offerings by Trillium and Tree House. This was my first time trying anything by this brewery, and I will definitely make a point to seek out more of their offerings.
