Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – the beer pours a clear dark golden color with a massive head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time and leaving a bit of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a bready and doughy aroma mixed with notes of caramel and a good deal of yeast. Along with these aromas comes notes of pretzels and some herb, as well as a hint of must and a moderately strong floral smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a slightly sweeter doughy and bready flavor with the sweet being of a mix of caramel malt mixed with some harvest fruits of pear and apple. At the same time there is a little bit of an earthy and floral hop, both of which remain at a constant low level throughout the taste. More graininess and some light hay develop more toward the end, and with a bit of must, it leaves one with a rather easy natured, slightly sweeter, but balanced doughy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is moderate in thickness with a slightly higher carbonation level. For the style and the abv. the feel is nice and makes for a very easy sipper.
Overall – A pretty easy drinking, and flavorful Helles. Would certainly do again, and would recommend giving at least a try to.

No can date
Pours a foamy airy 1 finger head with lower retention, no lacing, clear straw to honey blonde color
Nose brings plenty of pilsner malt, grainy-sweet doughy cereal, straw, light herbal noble hop, fairly weak on the nose
Taste brings more malt up front, cereal grain even breakfast cereal like, grainy-sweet a bit doughy pilsner malt, straw, herbal grassy noble hop, lemongrass, light bitterness, malt doesn't seem to have the rich supporting background I expect in a good Helles, no decoction either, dry flat finish
Mouth is thinner and a touch watery like, med carb
Overall this was way too light for a Helles, not enough malt support or body especially, I get more Mexican lager from this than Helles
