I had this beer on-tap in a tulip glass at the brewery.
Appearance: dark brown hue, not quite black, with a little haze and narrow cap of tan foam. Love the color.
Smell: malty, caramelly, and nutty. Nice, but the volume could be turned up a little.
Taste: caramelly malt with a bit of sweetness and some nutty, toffee character. Maybe a bit sweeter than a traditional schwarzbier but I like it!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: so like I said, this doesn't strike me as a classic schwarzbier, but I rather like it.
