I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a straight-sided pub glass.
Appearance: rich, dark brown hue, with a finger of lovely tan foam atop.
Smell: malty, caramelly, toasty, roasty ... quite nice!
Taste: roasty and a bit caramelly, but not quite balanced. Not bad, but could use a little refinement.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a decent carbonation and a pretty good creaminess.
Overall: I want to like this beer more than I do. It's not bad, really, but it's not quite balanced and could be a bit drier — for my taste, anyway.

I am trying a 5oz pour this beer off the tapper at the brewery. It poured a clear amber with thin off white head that did not leave any lace. The scent had wet malt and grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with mellow caramel malt base with grain and barley presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with no carbonation. Overall it is an Solid beer.

Pours a jet black with a finger of off-white head that slowly settles to a thin cap with some lacing. Aroma of molasses and roast malt. Taste follows nose.
