Had on tap on the Denver brewery on Walnut St.
On arrival a 1 finger off white fine head with a few bubbles was present. The body is a dark not quite black light blocking color without haze. No lacing on this one.
Aroma is light, with some reserved nutty/chocolatey notes. There is a bit of a fermentation funk/tartness to this, and it's pretty one note otherwise.
Taste is nicer than the aroma with even more of that chocolate/nutty note. A l9t darker than the aroma, and it actually matched the color. Not the best dunkel I've had but at least it's very clean, I just wish there was more here, and maybe a bit more sweetness.
Feel is pretty good here, full bodied with a drier finish but a higher carbonation and nice mouthcoating maltiness. Finish is long and maintains the full bodied feel, and is actually quite warming despite the lower ABV.
Overall this is decent. I want more rich malty flavors from a Dunkel, but nothing is clearly wrong woth this one. It's taste but has a hind of saving costs in the flavor which makes sense with the corporate structure here...
