This is a different beer to the other Kloster Scheyern Dunkel Export. This comes in a bottle with a dark blue label and is brewed in Scheyern, unlike the Export Dunkel which I have been told is contract brewed by Tucher in Nuremburg.

Served cold from 500ml bottle into straight lager mug.

A) Clear dark reddish brown, no head, lots of bubbles.

S) Fruity malts, very appealing. Strong smelling for a lager, but that is what good-quality Bavarian lagers give you.

T) Raisiny fruity malt, just a touch of bitterness on the aftertaste. The fizz gives it a welcome balancing sharpness.

M) Light and refreshing. No nasty aftertastes.

O) High quality dunkel lager. A bit lighter in the mouthfeel and taste than some of the others I have had, but you can take that as a positive if you have got a few to chug down like I have! Recommended.
