Had this beer last year while in town for a conference, had it at the source during the Knights season opener. Probably the first actual substantive review of the beer here. The beer is made for a good cause, sick baby girl, not some clown entertainer simps idolize.
Pours brown. Like, there is definitely a darker appearance, even for a rye beer going on. 1/3" off white head. Its pretty though. The aroma doesn't really give those high notes for rye nor hops.
Taste is a bitter pusher, light earthy notes, not the cliche spicy bready malt rye descriptor going on. Has the bitter pine thing going for it beyond all else. Its not really balanced nor complex. Its serviceable, don't get me wrong. Just kind of a weird style to launch with a fundraising impetus. I get they wanted a lighter body, but it just seems to be a C hop bitterness delivery vessel with some earthy tones.
Tell you what, I sure do watch a ton of boring body cam footage these days. I guess it helps with multitasking and finding the time to write these gems.

Right off the bat we have to be real: naming this one after the queen herself is a stretch. On top of that, I dunno if I would even call it Katy after that one singer with the jumbo mumbos. Either way, to hell with it. It’s decent and Raul is cool with that.
Peace!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
