MAY 2024. 44 cl can (bought on a website for €4.50, took 4 cans).
5% Pale Ale brewed in collaboration between Birrificio Vertiga (Rossano Veneto - Vicenza), Jungle Juice Brewing (Rome), Yakima Chief Hops (Washington, USA) and Mr. Malt (Pasian di Prato - Udine).
The hops are an experimental proposal provided by Yakima Chief, specifically: the new YCH 301 Trial Citra, which is part of a program called Elite Product Trial by YCH and combines the essence of freshly picked hops with the patented Cryo Hops technology. The hop cones are collected and without drying, they go directly to the Cryo Hops® plant where the lupulin is separated from the bracts (part of the hops covered with short, multicellular glandular hairs that come off easily and constitute the lupulin) and then pelletized.
On the nose, fruity notes of ripe fruit and yellow and citrus pulp fruit (I smell peach, ripe citrus, grapefruit).
Poured it is a blond amber, very orange-ish.
Abundant foam, soft but persistent to act as a hat to the beer (pour in three times from the can).
In the mouth light body, lively carbonation to liven up the drink.
As for the taste, I expected more of an English-style Pale Ale instead even before swallowing it the mouth is pervaded by a clear sense of bitterness, which is found once the beer is swallowed.
The citrus notes are the master: especially grapefruit and bitter orange.
The bitter note remains on the tongue for quite a long time, while the palate is clean (no fruity flavors of any kind echo, except for a fairly "dank" citrus).
