Brewed in Tennessee but gaining inspiration from the lands down under, Xul collectects the choicest of New Zealand hops for a hazy IPA of juicy proportions.
It takes a NZ State of Mind to create such a beer, pouring a heavily silted, bruised lemon matte appearance before releasing a bright perfume of citrus, light tropical fruit, vinous fruit and curious botanicals. Once its gentle sweetness coats the tongue, malty impressions of cereal, honeysuckle and powdered sugar come to mind. The overcast of hops commands the middle palate with bolder suggestions of under ripened orange, lemon and white grapefruit. More tropical flavors of passionfruit, kiwi and young pineapple help to create a fruit cocktail equipped with white grape, honeydew and gooseberry before falling into a peppery bitterness of verbena, sassafras, hemp and balsa.
Medium bodied and finishing with a smooth but pronounced bitterness, the session ends slightly more bitter than sweet and malty-dry with an afterglow of tropical fruit rinds and hemp once more.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 5/6/24, so a month old.
Soft pale orange body with a small but persistent foamy white head. Fat rings of lacing. Light hoppy fruity aroma. On tasting, hoppy, soft and pillowy. Solid malt base provides a balanced sweetness. Faintly warming hoppy finish.
Overall, excellent interpretation of the style. Shocked but delighted when this showed up in NE PA. My b-i-l lives in Knoxville and brought up a few over Thanksgiving. Xul and Bearded Iris are putting Tennessee on the ipa map!!
