16oz can into a pint glass.canned 3/12/26, so 5-6 weeks old.
Thick dull orange juice body. Small white head leaves dripping rings of lacing. Hoppy dry hopped aroma. On tasting, warming, dry hopped, thick non citrus fruit. Finish is full, warming.
Overall, another well made ddh dipa from Xul. Could drink all day long, but shouldn't.

Dated 03/12/26, into a Xul becher pint.
Pours a thick light orange with very tall creamy white foam. Aroma is passionfruit, burnt popcorn/diesel, white grape, and some mango. A little over 2 weeks old and perfectly pungent. This thing is a passionfruit bomb on the palate. There's some white grape and definitely Nelson funk, as well as mango and a little citrus, but the Riwaka definitely dominates here. The citra adds some citrus rind and bite on the back end, and it finishes bittersweet and quite sticky. There's good soft malts that come through as well, and I really like the absolutely fresh, intense hop flavors. I'd definitely call this one lower bitterness, but not necessarily juicy or too sweet. It's a good balance between fruit and vegetal flavors. Feel is great, very smooth, extremely soft and lower carbonation. You feel the 8.8 not on the palate or throat but I drank this one quickly and it came on strong and quite fast.
Overall, an exceptional IPA. Spencer from Barrique is now working at Xul Nashville and apparently they have him making almost exclusively Paper Crowns (their flagship IPA) and some other small batch IPAs. Apparently, he's been making them better than the Knoxville locations, but I loved his work at Barrique and hope to see him continue to brew great stuff, and hopefully, some experimental old world lagers. All of that to say I don't know if this beer was brewed in Knoxville or Nashville, but it is EXCEPTIONAL. It's also a collaboration, but seeing as it's on tap in Nashville and got distributed to Nashville, maybe it was.
All of that to say this is a crazy good beer. Xul makes me not miss proper PA/NYC hazy IPAs. I'm still a fiend for the New England stuff, but I don't need to hunt for Other Half if these are as cheap and as readily available as they are.
