This is a new brew pub that opened near me last month. The two brewers have been homebrewing buddies for 25 years and together with their families, opened up this place. They completely redid the interior with a very appealing décor, full dining area, new bar with 12 taps and kitchen. In addition to the on premise brewed beers, they also serve local cider, mead, wine and cocktails.
It is very easy to get here with public transportation. There's a public bus stop right at their parking lot provided by Mid Mon Valley Transit via their Commuter A route. It is also an easy 1/2 mile walk from the famous Pittsburgh T Silver Line (light rail) so people from downtown Pittsburgh and others on the line can get here cheaply without driving. By the way, I live within walking distance so it's particularly easy for me.
Of interest, the 2,000 acre South Park is right across the street from the pub so it's a great place to hang after a hike or bike ride.
I've been really enjoying the ambience. The music volume is kept low so you can easily have conversations with the people you are with. I've enjoyed meeting new neighbors and others from the area in this convivial environment. If you want to watch the Steelers, there is a TV in the backroom
All-in-all, this is a great addition to the area. The owners and staff are very friendly and it is easy to feel welcome from your first visit.
