Bottled - was in storage for a while but website for Bison Brewing seems to have gone byebye. Too bad, I liked that they made organic beer, and tasty organic beer it was.
Golden color, quite clear. Built lots of creamy white head which stuck around for a long time and laced the pint glass nicely.
Unique aroma, sort of pilsnery, but it is an ale (brewed with pilsner-style hops so that'd be the reason).
Nice mouthfeel. Hoppier and bit heavier than than your traditional koelsch-style beer, but a nice variation of the style.
Great summer beer I thought, with a nice pilsner hop kick to it, and great drinkability.
Good thirst quencher on a warm day.
Too bad the source ran dry.

I don't know if this is the one I had. What I drank was called Bison "Organic Blonde Ale" but otherwise seemed to be this. I drank it in March 09 and it was a new bottle so it isn't apparently retired if this is the beer. The Bison website shows nothing, though it also doesn't have two other Bison beers I've had listed and those I also had fairly recently.

Anyway, this is a thin, thoroughly mediocre beer.

Lightish amber, it has a small off-white head soon shrinking to a thin ring.

The aroma is light grapefruit, grapes, bread dough, alcohol, faintly like a kolsch mixed with a strong malt liquor.

The taste is grapefruit with cotton, hints of dough and grape. It's ok, but thin and bland. Light bitterness dominates the finish, but it is not particularly bitter. It's not too grapefruity and has no "crakcer" quality, but it just thin in feel and character, and rather one-dimensional and boring.

Pours a hazy amber colored brew without much of a head.

Smell is a little sweet with a bready malt scent. Cracker malt scent and a little bit fruity. Hop scent is just barely there in a faint whiff of grapefruit.

Taste is fruity with a proportional bitterness at the end. Not very complex, just a basic competent ale flavor.

Mouthfeel is OK.

I don't care if it is "Organic" it is a basic run of the mill ale.

Pours a golden straw colour with a big white fluffy head that laces well. Not too much aroma. a bit of floral hops and malt. Taste is clean and simple, a bit of malt up front then just enough spicy hop finish to dry things out. Not extremely complex. just very clean and crisp like a good Kolsch should be. Very drinkable would make a good session beer. Also is certified organic. Thanks to Greg from Specialty for the sample.

Medium straw color, very large head. A medium bodied Kolsch style ale. Subtle malts, mild and somewhat sweet. Mild hops with a slight spiciness. Good flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Nice refreshing summer beer.
