Dirty amber body, mostly clear; incredibly fine carbonation bubbles gently rising; towering head, stiff and rocky in appearance; thick, sticky patches of white foam dot the glass. Rich malt aroma; light caramel; ripe apricot. Moderate malt sweetness to the taste; intense, heavy hop bitterness spices the palate; slightly peppery. Heavy body with a mild coarseness on the palate; sticky; moderate dryness overall.
New Hokaido have produced a rich, malty, nicely bittered double India pale ale. Simple and straightforward in some regards, yet immensely pleasurable to drink.
