Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Superficially black, but as so often held to a halogen bulb it's a wonderfully deep ruby-red. Pours clear with a 3mm mid-tan creamy looking head. ps @+10mins, forms copious lacing on the way down.
S- Deeply toasty and quite clear notes of wood-smoke.
T- Follows directly from the smell, loud smoke and even the sense of charred timber.
F- There must be some malts/feel here or what with this imapactful flavour it would feel extremely thin, ie which it doesn't. But the body is certainly secondary and rather over-shadowed.
O- As it warms a touch from fridge-cold it's in parallel warming on me too, more detail is becoming evident. I'm enjoying it, it's polished and would make a good winter beer for fans of black beer.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Ah, a smoked porter, and from London.
330ml bottle £2.70 BB: 03/2022 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
