Costa Ricans refer to their microbrews as artisanal beers. I've had a few, not all of them, but 5inco Amigos is the absolute worst beer I think I've had. It's just simply poorly made, it's that bad, even by Costa Rican standards. At least adjunct beer has some quality control behind it, even it the taste is lacking and the beer is uninspired. This beer is just really bad home brew. There is a strong yeasty flavor, nose, from top to bottom. I'm not indulging in hyperbole when I say that any half way decent homebrewer could produce something better than this. It is god awful. Gracia Brewing is much better so try that and just avoid this monstrosity of a beer. I was unable to finish either the Toro or the Tikipa, double IPA. I'm not even going to write a review because it will be repetitive. If you see this on the shelves in CR, just run, and I mean run.

Bought in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. The beer is a dark amber color, clear, with a 2 finger, foamy, off-white head. The smell is surprisingly light and fruity with a toasted malt note. The taste has a nice earthy hoppy character with a light fruitiness. There is a solid toasted and bready malt backbone throughout, but the taste is mostly clean and slightly hoppy. Finishes slightly bitter. Smooth, but slightly thin. I enjoyed this.
