Picked up these 473ml cans from the brewery itself. Nice art on the can, along with a brief blurb about the Greek myth and the beer itself.
Pours a nice coppery/honey hue with a respectable off-white head. The beer itself is clear and gives off a nice sparkle in the glass.
Aroma hits the notes very well for the style. It isn't overhopped, which is kinda what I expect sometimes from the new breweries. Great bready toasty notes, breakfast cereals, a nice hint of honey and caramel. A bit of spice also hits the nose: perhaps cinammon or anise. Actually, the longer I spend with this, the more I am really liking the aroma. Very nice.
Taste is a good fulfilment of the what the aroma promised. Tons of cereal hits, and I almost get a bit of rye from this, though according to the can that is not an ingredient of this beer. Caramel and toffee, plenty of sweet dark fruits like prune and figs, and a tad more hopping makes itself known in the taste, ending mostly dry rather than overly sweet. Getting a bit of lemon and grapefruit in the finish. Mouthfeel is a solid medium.
I really enjoyed this. It ticks off all the boxes for an amber, and is quite delicious. I am impressed.
