Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pours clear, between very deep amber and chestnut brown. 1Cm pale tan foam cap. ps@+10mins, holds up pretty well and forms lacing on the way down.
S- Quite mild, just some light toasty notes.
T- Quite bright vs how it looks. [1st sip of beer today so my palate is quite alert.] Next comes toasty notes again this time clearly present, some deep roasty malts and then into quite a notable hoppy note into the finish. There is a lot going on in the Taste, that was quite a taste-journey from the first two sips!
F- If I was blind-folded I'd not guess this as any kind of lager. To me it tastes AND feels much more like trad English ale. Both interesting and enjoyable.
O- I'm enjoying it, it's good to drink - well structured, zero stands out as out of place/balance. It's something a bit different and a bonus is it's British too.
440ml can BB: 19/07/2021 £2.50 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
