Altenmunster Brauer Bier GmbH “Urig Wurzig”
,5L flip-top brown glass bottle coded “Mindestens haltbar bis Ende: 03.22” and sampled on 25.09.21.
€1,25 @ Tomis Supermarkt, Bacharach, DE
Notes: “Rustic and spicy”. “Our oldest type of beer in the best brewing tradition. It is hearty, with distinctive nutty accents, before a pleasant hop flavor unfolds. All in all round and balanced in taste.” Stammwürze 11,3. Bottom fermented.
Look: Clear straw gold body beneath a full head of rocky white foam. Excellent head retention and lacing.
Smell: Clean, softly grainy but no it sweet, and a touch spicy.
Taste: Grainy, bready, and lightly nutty malt dominates followed by spiciness and herbal character. It’s got a stiff bitterness that balances the malt, and along with the spicy hops leads to a dry conclusion. Really nicely balanced and rounded.
Feel: Medium-light in body and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled, seemingly natural carbonation.
Overall: Quite nice, and well worth trying.
