For our 5th Anniversary we have teamed up with some of our favorite brewery neighbours in Downtown Victoria to bring you this Strong Ale. We used 100% Field Five Malt and boiled the wort for 7 hours in our direct fire kettle. This gave us a tonne of caramelization and resulted in a thick and syrupy wort with a hint of smokey ash. From here we aggressively hopped it with big doses of Simcoe and Chinook. The result is a big and bold ale with huge citrus and pine notes and a huge body with a subtle smokey finish. Thanks for joining us in our love of beer for the past 5 years!

Single 16 ounce can from Vessel Liquor in Victoria - had on tap at Herald Street back in February.
Pours a near clear orange amber with a finger of irregular tawny head that fades shortly.
Nose is piney and resinous; notes of grapefruit peel, caramel, brown sugar, and a little bit of peaty aroma.
Brown sugar sweetness up front on the palate, raisin bread, but quickly gives a hit of piney resin, citrus peel with an aggressive bitterness and a soft smoky note.
Sweet medium full mouthfeel with a sticky bittersweetness and just a touch of peaty booziness.
