Tap pint at the brewery.
L: SRM 19 pours dark amber Red with light carbo and a medium-thin light khaki head that is lightly creamy and leaves sticky webbed lacing.
S: Caramelized malts , burned caramel, a light floral note, cookie dough, brown bread dough, dark fruits.
T: Taste follows aroma plus a touch of black tea, a light hard candy sweet note, plum, raisin, a tinge of citrus zest.
F: Lightly brisk then very smooth with a medium length medium dry finish.
O: A delicious tasting and easy drinking beer. Its flavors are firm and the feel is a little soft. Has a big malty aroma. It's a nice balance and it is lightly bittersweet. This is a winner. It is very good to excellent in its style.

At the tap room, served in a shaker. There’s another beer from this brewery on this site named Samurai Red, both that’s listed as an imperial, weighing in at 9%, and this one is definitely an ipa, and the brewery’s advertised 6% seems about right. Color is a dense reddish amber, some head that leaves some decent lacing. Some good hoppy liveliness, with an edge of bitterness, as well as some substantial and kind of warming crystal or caramel maltiness. On a cold winter night in Duluth, anyway, it is a nice pint.
