Have you ever started reading reviews of a beer before you cracked one? I know I have, and I did with this beer: I was bracing for a disappointing experience based on what looked like mostly old reviews of Turtle Bay IPA. I don't particularly agree with the description on the can proclaiming this to be a New England style IPA, however in this case, it's a plus for me given my somewhat recent preference for a West Coast style IPA. I have to believe Two Heroes has had some time to develop this beer, and I must declare, it's a winner. I'm not a fan of no canning date, but I took a chance anyhow, and thankfully this IPA tastes very fresh and crisp (they were stocking the cooler with it as I was browsing). If you're expecting a turbid, pulpy New England style IPA, this beer will likely disappoint you, but if you appreciate a well crafted West Coast style IPA, this one is likely to scratch that itch.

On tap at the source, tasting notes:
Light bodied, thinnish. Light hops in the nose, palate. Quick, dry finish.
Just needs more hops, body.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow. One finger of foam that fades relatively quickly.
Smell: pine, sulfur, pineapple
Flavor - citrusy pine. Lingering bitterness towards the back end. The bitterness is a little more assertive. Not much else going on.
Mouthfeel- Can says full body, but it comes across as medium. Carbonation is medium.
Overall - If you are looking for a really juicy IPA, this isn't it. This is a hazy with a more assertive bitterness.
